🌈Each year when you celebrate your rainbow baby’s birthday, it’s a reflection point like no other that reminds you of every moment that brought your sweet child - and YOU - here.

🎂Happy Birthday to our Encanto-loving 3-year-old princess who loves anything glittery (especjally sparkly eyeshadow - last slide), getting her nails done, reading her books, playing with her brother and screaming at the top of her lungs at least 6xs a day at a pitch high enough to trigger the glass break on our alarm system. She loves talking about our day before bed at night, singing “mama loves you” (a song I made up when she was a newborn) and hurling her body every which way at gymnastics like she’s going for the gold. Her endless smiles, love of life and happiness are contagious, and even though she is definitely developing an attitude (the way she says “fiiiiineeee” when she finally concedes about something scares me for the teenage years) she knows how to blink her eyes in a way that makes sure she gets her way every single time (at least when it comes to daddy).

Three years with this dream come true and not a day goes by that I CANNOT BELIEVE she is here. Before she was born everyone asked me in the final weeks what things are you going to do before life as you know it ends and baby is here?

My response: when she is born … actually born … and I hear her cry and walk through my front door of my house with her in my arms … that’s when my life begins.

I hoped and prayed for her for years, cried a million tears, resigned myself to the fact that another baby was never coming and yet here she is all wrapped up like a big beautiful present with a big lavender bow. And 3 years later I still cannot believe it, and I still pray for each and every woman who’s still in it that their rainbow comes. 🌈🌈🌈

Happy birthday to our Gemma … I won the life lottery being her and Nick’s (and Bleecker’s) Mom. Full of gratitude and just thankful, thankful and beyond thankful for where we are now.
